If you build the most fabulous Sales Funnel or hire the most expensive designer to create your amazing Website than you must know how to write a great offer.

When you write a blog or a text, and you are in the marketing branch or just writing content for your site, you need to know how to write good content that people want to read.

The first Copywriting Excercise is mental copywriting. Yes, you heard right mental copywriting. 

What is mental copywriting… Quickly explained whenever you see an ad, you think to yourself how could you make that ad better. 

Example: When you drive down the street, and you see on the street side an Mc Donald Billboard. There is a picture of the Big Mac with French Fries. “It says “Think Big get a Big Mac.” In your head, you should not be thinking how the big Mac will taste with a fresh cold coke, no you will be thinking how could you make this Billboard ad better. 

So you are going to rewrite mentally that ad, like “Think Big get a Big Mac at Mc Donalds 2 miles from here. “

Or when you have a doctor’s visit, and you see the magazines lying on the table, grab one and look at the ads. Do mental training. 

Maybe you see one of those electric dog water bowls, where the water is flowing. The ad says: “Best electric water bowl for dogs with long ears. “Rethink and rewrite this ad mentally in your mind so that a customer would buy that water bowl immediately. 

You could say: The best electric water bowl specially made for dogs with long ears. 

Do this in your mind when you see ads it trains your mind and helps you over time writing better ads that sell on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Bing or Yahoo. 

When you start writing ads, make a game out of it and see how much of the text can you rewrite and make fantastic ads out of them.

Use a journal and use them on a later time when you need in your ads. The best thing is that there is no equipment involved.

Copywriting Excercise number Two. Tell the people the benefits, not the features. 

No one is interested in the features; your reader is only interested in what benefits can it have for him and what does it do for your reader. Does it solve a problem? 

So how do you know what your reader needs? Answer yourself six questions about your product.  (Sourcebook Jim Edwards)

Question 1: 

Why would people buy my product? What is mine? Why? Without a strong why people won’t buy. 

Question 2: 

What are five ways my product or service will help them, improve their life, or make them money? 

Question 3: 

How can my product or service help them save money, over the next year, week or month? 

Question 4: 

How does my product or service eliminate mental pain or worry for them? 

Question 5. 

What are the three ways I or my product/service can help my audience feel more comfortable? 

Question 6. 

What is something they don’t have to do anymore once they get my product or service? (This is how to figure out how it helps them avoid effort) 

If you take each of this question and sit down and think about it, you will be amazed at what you come up with. 

Words that sell. Copy writing

Force yourself to come up with at least three answers to these five questions means you will have 15 answers. If you can get more answers better for you.

With these 15 answers, I am sure you can list great benefits for your product. ( please note they have to make sense) 

Copywriting Excercise number three, keep your swipe file, 

What is a swipe file? Well, it is a folder you keep cool advertisements or cool pieces of copy. 

A swipe file can be digital; it could be physical; it doesn’t matter. 

I keep a swipe file on my computer and when I see ads, or I see an advertisement that makes me go wow I will save it. ( I have categorized for easy searching on my swipe file) 

You can make a screenshot of it or use snap it and copy it over to your folder. How you want to save them, it is up to you. 

I also do this with a great sales letter. I will bookmark the page or sometimes print it as a pdf and keep it in my swipe file.

Please understand you will save many files. It is important that you go through from time to time and declutter your computer get rid of what you do not need. ( If you do not systemize your swipe file you will be drowning and spend hours in searching for things. 

What should be going into a swipe file? 

Now, what is supposed to go in a swipe file? Well, I always save things that make me click on them, I say things that make me sign up, I look at my competitor’s sales copies and save some I find appealing. 

I save things that make me laugh, and I also keep things that make me go wow, 

Now the purpose of this swipe file is that later when you’re trying to think of something, and you’re running out of ideas you can go back to your swipe file and start browsing through it and get ideas right away. 

For example, if I’m trying to write a sales page. 

I’m at the price section, and I am running out of ideas,

 I go to my swipe file. 

In my swipe file, there is a section that is called pricing. 

I go there and look through to see how other people structure their pricing pages. 

I get some inspiration or copy the idea if it is good. Make sure you keep from your Sales Letter or Advertising campaign a copy too. I could take some inspiration or just flat-out copy some of those, so make sure to keep your swipe file.

Another tip what I do, Ads that do well I create a different folder as later I might go back and use the same ad again. 

Copywriting exercise Number four. Trim, Trim, Trim …

The whole goal of copywriting is to take information from one brain and transmit it to a bunch of other minds. 

The point of copywriting is not to hit a specified length on an article or to get fancy. 

In short, the point is to get across information from one brain to the other—the more concise, the better. How long a sales copy depends on the product and the audience. Some say at least 500 words some say less than 200 words.

It is up to you, and you have to try to get your message across. One thing is for sure people do not want to read a novel as a sales copy.  Think about yourself. How much would you read when you are ready to buy something.

There is NEVER one size fits all.

Most Marketers make this mistake and wonder why the sales are slow. 

One thing most people make online is that they do not segment their traffic. That means they give the wrong message to the wrong audience.

You need to segment your messages by the quote, unquote temperature of your traffic.

Someone who is on your email list and someone who follows you on social media is a hot source.

Someone who is looking for a solution to a problem but they don’t know you yet is warm traffic.

Another source is that there is some audience who doesn’t even know there is a solution out there, but know they have a problem this is a cold source. 

Lesson define your audiences and then write the sales copy.

Copywriting Excercise Nr. five.  Do not use those words.

Go through your sales copy and look for these words. I, me, my, ours, we, you will be surprised how many times you used those words. 

Why because your customer does not care about you. Selling a product in a sales copy is all about the customer benefit and solution to their problem. 

Eliminate those words from your sales copy. It sounds harsh, but those are words your customer does not want to hear. Again, those words do not tell your customer what they want to hear. 

Seriously your customer does not care about you. Think about when you buy things or stuff what do you care about? Be honest.

  • You care about getting your money worth.
  • You care about getting what been promised.
  • You care about that it works.
  • You care about getting it when you want it.
  • You care about all the things regarding the product and how it will benefit you. 

For example, I want to tell you something here…

…change perspective: Here is something you should know. 

The simple thing is that you will convert your sales copy from talking about yourself to talking about them.  

You can still use the I word but differently. You do it in a consciously way, making it all about them. 

  • How will they be enriched?
  • How will they benefit?
  • How will they receive what they want? 

Remember your prospects do not care about you, all they care about is having their needs met, their problems solved, their fears calmed, and their desires satisfied. 

 Copywriting exercise number six. Listen to yourself.

Read your copy out loud to yourself. Listen to your reading. 

Reading out loud is a very, very transformational exercise; the reason most people have trouble writing is that it’s a very unnatural thing to write. 

Think about it. You sit down at a desk. 

You are looking at a screen, 

You are typing on a keyboard, 

You are using a mouse, and you are trying to convey information that otherwise would be spoken. 

If you speak to your friend, you don’t sit down and start typing. Like 

 “Hey, what’s up, Bob?” 

For a sales copy, it does not come naturally. The important thing is to read your sales copy out loud to see if it translates to speaking. 

If you read many articles and read them out loud to a crowd, it would sound like you’re reading an article.

Technology makes things easier. Use your iPhone, Android or Samsung phone.

So instead read your copy out loud, do it at your desktop, speak into a microphone and record it than listen to it. You can also use voice to text, and it will write it out itself. 

Sometimes when you dictate your thoughts, it is easier than to write them into an excellent sales copy. 

From there you can listen to it and you can decide if it is boring, fantastic or just an article that puts people to sleep. If you find it is an absolute fantastic copy that people get excited over it than use it put it to work and make money with it.

Push some boundaries and see how it sounds, sometimes we have to spice it up a bit to make the text in our sales copy look sexy and sound exciting.  

Those are six of the best copywriting tips for you to write a better sales copy that will convert. 

Yes, you can outsource it, before you outsource you must know what you want as if you do not understand copywriting than delegate it to others is difficult and might not give you the result you expect.

Why You  Struggle With Time Management And How To Fix It. 

Our day has 24 hours, out of this 24 hours we take around 6 to 8 hours sleep and the rest goes either for work or entertainment. Lots of Entrepreneurs do not have much time as they struggle to get things done. 

A lot of Entrepreneurs let their dreams die. Why? they struggle to survive. 

I have asked myself many times why? I struggled in the beginning for the first year. I could not get the tasks done what I did write down …  I created my Trello calendar and google calendar for the week and by the end of the week, only 30 % had been done.  Want to know “Why” simply because there was always something coming up that needed my attention. 

I believed in my mind I will get things done. I achieved my goals and task I wrote down for a couple of days and then something came up again and my system or routine was gone again. I started again and again. In the end, I procrastinated week for week. 

I could not believe myself and I made excuses and talked myself into it that tomorrow I will do all. I was just kidding myself. 

It became very quickly a hamster wheel and I was chasing after time and started to work longer and longer. I asked myself is this what I wanted from a freedom lifestyle. Being an Entrepreneur?

Managing time is not an easy task and everyone who is working at home can tell you that this is the A and O in daily life. Time management is necessary to plan and start a productive life without working yourself into an early grave.

It took me a long time to understand that Time management is more than just writing down your daily schedule, tasks, and magical thinking to achieve them. There is much more involved than just time management.

You can believe me when I say it has something to do with your mind and your brain. If you do not synchronise your mind with your brain, and your brain with your time management and goal schedule you will never manage time and achieve your goals.

When you start your own business and work from home, you are faced with different obstacles to managing your time.

I think we all know this and for an Entrepreneur, this is nothing new we all been there or are still there. 

Each day there are different distractions like people pop in to see you, as you work at home and you have time that is the assumption of a lot of people.

If you are married or in a relationship, your spouse will ask you to do certain tasks as you are at home, for many people working at home they can not see as real work.

The end of it you get distracted by phone calls and or social media, your kids come in and want to play there are so many distractions each day.

When you are an Entrepreneur it is important to learn how to say NO I am working. You need to have a room or a place where you are not disturbed and be able to focus and work…

How can you manage your time efficiently? Good question and believe it or not but you have to learn the how-to … 

Everyone talks about working smarter not harder that sounds great and can be looked from different perspectives. But how do you actually put that into action? Have you heard about the 80/20 Rule?

1. Prioritize on what’s important. Easier said than done. It all comes down to making decisions. 

Write down all the things you want to get done for the day.

Everything from writing content, researching the projects, balancing the chequebook, planning a campaign, answering emails, communicating on social media etc.

b. Assign a specific time to each task. Between 15 min and 4 hours.

c.Select a task and use a timer like your phone or clock. Try to finish that task as soon as possible. ( that means you will NOT answer the phone, not get up for a drink, you do not surf the social media, none of that you stay focused on the task.

If your task is 2 hours then you should take a 5-minute break after a 30-minute interval. That way you are more inclined to continue in an efficient way and get the task done. This is called Timeboxing.

So do you think that works? From my experience, it works for 2 weeks on and off and then you are back at the drawing board looking for something new.

The problem with all the time management programs is that it all starts with tasks and no one ever talks about your brain and mind. Because those two are the ones who make things happen. Your Brain is the key for you taking action. 

Not your piece of paper or google calendar that are just tools to help you to organize but achieving these goals that begin in your head or better say brain.

Outsourcing and Delegate your work. 

Think about outsourcing the tasks what you don’t like so much and the tasks that take you ages to complete. Not everyone is a professional in every field. Procrastination comes up because there are a lot of tasks that need to be done but we will find ways to get around it and find always something else to do, why because we don’t like to do them. This way you are able to manage your time wisely.

There are plenty of reasonable possibilities to outsource daily work tasks what do not require many skills but are time-consuming.

Check on Fivrr, Upwork. Freelancer, etc. 

 Control your Interruptions

By far the biggest challenge is getting interrupted constantly, but to be very frank we allow it! Someone comes into your workspace and says “Do you have a minute”? We never say ” No I am busy” 

Because you are a nice person you say “Sure come on in.” Bad move. Now you have given away your time. What you can say is “I am in the middle of something — can you come back in an hour?” Now you are doing something brilliant — negotiating for time. via Managing Time Is the Biggest Struggle Facing Entrepreneurs. It is so easy said, but the only way to do this and actually get going is either you create a home office where you can close the door and work in peace, or you need to set rules so everyone understands that when you are working at home, you are actually working and need to get things done.

How you do that, use the time to block method. Have a calendar visible or share through google calendar or Trello and let everyone know your time schedule. People will respect that, and in the long run, it is already 20% what you achieved in your time management. Scheduling time is a great way to achieve your tasks.

Grammarly is a writing tool that helps me to check for several types of error. It detects grammar and punctuation mistakes – basic to advanced. It also provides real-time suggestions and guidelines on how to correct these mistakes. It’s also a robust spell-check tool that keeps your writing mistake-free.

I love Grammarly, and because I am not a native English speaker, it is one of the most important tools for me.

I use Grammarly for all my write-ups. What makes Grammarly a standout tool among all the other tools is that it is integrated with Microsoft Word and the WordPress Editor. It is also a browser extension and integrates with most of the browsers. Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, and Google  Chrome.Google ChromeChrome.

I also use it on social media text fields. So I work online more accurately using, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or while commenting on blogs.

I have used the free version for nearly a year, but since I switched to the pro version, my spelling and writing got so much better. I love that I can remember the mistakes I made before.

It is important to have an excellent tool to check my writing and avoid making enunciating errors and typos repeatedly. Readers get turned off when a text or blog is full of errors.

Doesn’t matter which version you take, but I highly recommend the Grammarly pro version. Try out the free version and decide for yourself. 

2.Blog2social Free and Pro version 

When you write a blog, you also need to share your blog.

Sharing your blog manually on social media can be very time consuming and a pain in the butt.

I use Blog2social to share my blogs. It is one of the best plugins I found to share my blog.

With the free version of Blog2social, you can only have one account per social network, and you can not schedule your post. The Free version gives you a taste of what Blog2Social can do. However, its limited functionality does restrict the automation features that you’d probably want in a social sharing plugin.

For me, the custom sharing and one step workflow features are the best part. They allow me to tailor my messages for each social network. What needs improvement is that you can not customize your images for each network.

What is better in the Pro version.

The pro version is more advanced, and you can do a lot more with it.

With Blog2Social Pro, you can also add up to 5 accounts per social network. When you have like me multiple accounts to share your content, this is quite useful.

It has a great Time Scheduler where you can schedule for the whole month, or the entire year all your posts.

On top of it, there is a great feature where it recommends the best times to share your blogs.

You can even choose on which day and time want to schedule your posts.

You can add more posting times so that you can reach different people at different times on different days of the week.

Tips: It is important to work on a schedule and automate some process as it is very time-consuming. Remember in blogging or in the internet world “Time is money”

3.GTmetrix for Site Speed (Free)

GT Metrix is a completely free incredible indispensable blogging tool.

Many bloggers do not realize that you can potentially lose much money when your website is to slow, either on desktop, tablet or mobile.GT Metrix one of the most important tools for a website owner

If you want to continue getting traffic at a higher level as well as continue earning money from affiliate marketing, advertising products e-commerce store, you need a standard host and a super-fast website.

When it comes to blogging, social interaction and social sharing is an important factor.

The ranking is also important, but social shares are an excellent way to get traffic to your website.

Most of the people who rank in the first ten positions in Google have, in general, a substantial social following. To achieve a social following, you need to get the people to share your blog through social media.  

I use the Social Pug plugin as it is clean, easy to use, and it is fast what means it does not slow down my site.

I have tried a fair share of social media plugins, but most of them are heavy due to many tracking codes, ad links, spyware, malware, and spam links included.

Social share buttons are instrumental in exploring the best social media marketing strategy.

When I thought I found the right one, it either slowed down my side and or started to go in conflict with one of my other plugins. It was frustrating this I can tell you.

When you have a useful plugin like a social pug on your website, you can extend your blog reach a large group of people or audience, but you have to write great and unique content.

Your Readers will then enjoy and are happy to share your content on social media with friends and families.

I highly can recommend social pug as it is a clean and fast plugin.

6.Pingler.com Blog and Ping Tool ( free and paid version) 

Pingler.com is one of the best Ping Tools for your blog.

I would say Pingler is one of the easiest Ping tools I have used in a long time.

I use the paid version, but I applied for three months of the free version.

Pingler.com is a web-based tool that allows you to use their service to ping your blog and site links.

The free version works well, but you do not get pinged as often as with the paid version. 

With the paid version $2.99 a month you can ping 25 URL frequently. You can adjust the settings to every two days three days.

For me, this works as I wouldn’t say I like to do everything manually.  

Pingler.com has different variations, and they offer various services like a variety of browser add-ons and plugins that all perform the same function.

When you submit your site, you can request a confirmation email that comes along with the details.

It does not matter which ping tool you use, make sure you ping your blog.

Also, don’t forget to submit your blog link to google webmaster tool and Bing webmaster tool, so your blog gets indexed.

7. UpdraftPlus (both free & paid versions) a must-have for any website

Whenever you have content on your website, it is an effort from your site. Everything you put you’re your blog counts, and it is valuable.

One thing every website owner should do, and that is back up your website and database. If you are already doing it congratulation, keep a safe copy of your back up with you in case you need it. Download it onto your computer.

There are several backup plugins available, but most of them do not offer a full backup feature. Most hosting services do a backup daily on your site, but why put your faith into their hands. Do it yourself better be safe than sorry.

With both free and pro versions available, it works without much effort. I am using Updraft Plus for a couple of years now, and it has saved me much-pulling hair moments. I think you know what I am talking about.

Sometimes a plugin update goes wrong and can make your website scrambled, or a plugin can go the wrong way and is in conflict with other plugins.

Better be safe than sorry and backup your WordPress website on a regular base.

This is saving you a lot of nerves, swearing and hairpulling.

8.Another great tool… Jaaxy the easiest and best keyword research tool.

My piece of advice.

My advice for the beginning use the essential plugins for your website first and pay pro if you can or go along.

The plugins that are not necessarily keeping them free and if you can afford them, choose wisely. Always ask your self what will this plugin do for you to increase your business. It is always a decision on how important is that plugin for you.  Pro and  Free version. 

I give you this advice as out of my own experience I overdid it with the plugins and my site became a crawling snail, plus when you calculate all the small amounts at the end of the month or year you will be surprised how quick it sums up.

Tools like subscribers.com make it super simple for people to subscribe. The opt-in cat is another option. When they subscribe, you can create a drip feed within subscribers.

One of my first trip notifications is my favourite Keyword Tool. When I do that, I am sending people to jaaxy.com that drives me a ton of traffic, a ton of usage. It is a favourite way to use in marketing. Use one of your favourite software or tools.

You can push notifications to use as a primary way to drive traffic to your website, and at the same time, you can generate leads and sales.

Technique nr. 5 Take a look at your competitors uses the software to spy on them.

Using tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs and Buzzsumo, you can spy on your competition.

SEMrush shows you all the popular terms, organic and paid your competitors going after.

Ahrefs shows you everyone who is linking, to your competition that is not linking to you.

Buzzsumo shows all the popular articles that your competition had read.
Use this tool to figure out what is working for your competition and do more of that. Also, you can use these tools to see what is not working for your competition so you can avoid making the same mistakes.

Take advantage of the tools that are out there it helps you to grow your business, and at the same time, you learn from your competition.

Not all tools are free if you can invest in some tools if not use the free version. But upgrade when you can. After all, you are running a business. 

Technique Nr. 6 Go Visit and engage in trade shows, enhance the offline business.

Trade shows are huge. I know we are talking about online stuff but who says you can’t generate business offline.

Even though I get over 20 K unique visitors a month, I still generate more revenue offline.

Lots of people are not so familiar with the internet and getting to know them to present your business is a great idea.

Check out trade shows, Conferences and localised meetups that is how I am building my brand.

Speaking on conferences, going to localise meetups, doing all these things will help you generate business. ( when you start out, you have to know that you will not be paid speaking on conferences or shows.) It does not matter, but it brings you customers and strengthen your Authority.

People aren’t just communicating over the internet, they also want to get to know you. Build that personal connection in person, this is an essential factor. People like to know with whom they are dealing and the mouth to mouth advertising is still popular.

It is simple it is easy you can even apply to speak at conferences also if you haven’t spoken at any event before, just take all your industry events to apply to all of them and one for sure will accept you.

This is a numbers game, that is how I got my first speaking gig. Remember offer value first.

Technique Nr. 7 Get yourself some press you can hire an agency.

Companies like prserve.com will do a performance-based press. If they get you on sites like TechCrunch, Buzzfeed, Entrepreneur or whatever it may be, whatever you are targeting they will charge you.

What that means is that you pay for it.
Some of the not so well-known gurus always say they featured on Forbes or CNN or whatever. That is how they do it. They take their luck and success into their own hands.

If they don’t, get you the deals they won’t charge you.
You also have to understand that it is not a guarantee that you will have the links to your site. Just because you get on TechCrunch doesn’t mean PR serve is going to guarantee that they are going to link to your website.

Yeah, they will mention your site, your product, and your service, and they may want to interview you.

They will create real press even real magazines likes Forbes the offline edition or Entrepreneur, right the physical hard copy print magazine version. It is a great way to just generate press without having to pay those monthly retainers like most of those PR Companies charge.

Technique Nr. 8 Keep your content SEO optimised.

You do not have to use too much SEO or hire an SEO expert. The only thing you should do is use a keyword tool and check out the best keywords for your article or blog post.

Yes, you can. There are different Themes who have the typography already pre-installed. Unfortunately, my Theme did not have it, and my font when I use the headlines and I wanted to make some words bold looked very funny. I was looking for an option to change my Font for my WordPress Theme.

I looked around and tried some options, and when I tried to change the font on my Theme through CSS. Style it did not work. With every update it went back to the old font, I could also not overwrite the default font. I guess my Theme pulls the fonts from somewhere else.

On another website, I use a different Theme it worked with CSS. Style Sheet but only for my posts and the pages I had to re-do again. As I am not a Programmer and don’t want to mess up my site I decided to look for a plugin that is not too heavy and will not slow down my site speed. I found a plugin and installed it.

I have done a few tests and I have changed now my fonts on one both my sites, and I am so happy with the result. I discovered a few neat tricks.

How to get started with the Easy Google Font Plugin.

The Easy Google Font plugin is one of the best free plugins what is available right now for marketers and for web designers. It has a great range of fonts, and you can also change your font colour, font size, font appearance, space and so much more.
I tried a few font plugins but the google font plugin I find is the best. I use it now for any WordPress Theme that has no Typography option available.

Whenever I use a plugin I test the site speed before and after, the result is that the Google fonts is less dense and is not slowing down my site. Please, whenever you install a plugin and do some changes on your site do not forget to back up your site.

Step 1. Log into your site and go to Dashboard> Plugins> Add New > look for the Easy Google Font Plugin> and install it> activate it.

The Google Font plugin is a win-win for every web designer out there.

Step 2.
Go to your Dashboard and click appearance > go to customizer> click on it > open it and there you can see a brand new item on the customizer dashboard called Typography. > click on it > and it open Default Typography > click on it and you can see the paragraphs and headline one, headline two through to headline six. ( Depend on your Theme)

If you scroll down a little bit, we got first of all the standard web fonts that are all the stuff that is on your computer and then we have the google stuff. Then we have the Script Subset > all Subset we do not worry about this now. We go down to Heading one.

If we change Heading one we go to Heading one choose font> click on it and choose New Rocker ( That is the font I choose for you to see)> You can see immediately that your heading one has changed. >If you change now heading two, three, four, five, six to New Rocker > You can see it is very fast to change the font of your headings.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and how much the google font plugin can do.
Discover more options, there is font weight, and that usually applies only to the google form that has options on font weight.

Step 3. Change the Font Weight, Text Decorations and Text Transform on your WordPress Theme.

When we choose a more flexible font like “open sans” we can see that we have different options like font weight/style. If we go up to 800 then you can see that we also have text decorations like underline, sounds a bit weird, or overline sounds even weirder, line through, and we have text-transform like uppercase, lowercase, and capitalize.

Use things you know that potentially work in text transformations like uppercase and it could be useful. The options are flexible. Save or click publish.

If you click on the appearance tab which is for things like font colour, you can change it to red or blue, or to black as I can see many themes have the anthracite colour now I don’t like it very much, so I changed mine to black.

I love this google font plugin as it is excellent and it is free so what are you waiting for install it now.
All the functionality goes right through from your header one tag to header six tag and paragraph.

We change header 3 to font nixie it has one weight and when we change the colour say a beautiful blue, what it shows you that you can see very quickly how your main font families classes can be transformed and turned into a bespoke option on your website.

As you can see, there are default options for the main six headings and also the paragraph and when we change it does it real quick.
So what happens when you want to change something that is not a standard class so we got our standard headings and we got our standard paragraph, and there is much other stuff there.

Changing the Logo Font or Menu Font on your WordPress Theme.

Changing the logo font or the menu font that is where this plugin has his qualities.
It is a bit Kodi, but I am trying to keep this as a little on the lighter version, but sometimes you have to roll up your sleeves and get your hands a bit dirty. I hope you do not mind. I promise you will love it. I am not a Programmer so remember if I can do it so can you.

So let’s and don’t forget to save and publish that first.

Step 5.

Now we are going to the front end of our website and give that a refresh and see the changes we just made.

So what we want to do now is change the Logo Text Font or whatever you want to call it. ( Site Title)

Of course, there is no option for that back here on the easy google fonts typography. The Question is now how do we do it? Well, it is not so difficult as you think, get started.
The first thing we do is we need to find out what class title this logo text ( or whatever you want or call it) is.
How we do this?

Go to your Website Element ( Logo Text ) and hover over it with your mouse.

It is pretty easy to do with any browser, and you just have put the cursor over the element we want to know the class then use the >right click of your mouse and a tab will open up that says inspect or inspect element. Click on inspect element, and you get a whole text with HTML codes from your element.

It also shows you what the CSS properties for that item are, and you can see it here.

We are interested in the code above it.

It is called the site type, and that is the class that decides what that logo text will look like.

Now we make a note by just simply clicking on the text copy with CTRL+C and go back to the dashboard. Close the customizer and go to the settings menu. You will see an item for google fonts.

Click on it, and you come to the list of Easy Google Font.  You will see different items like …

What does that do, you can create different class elements that you can then control through your customizer in the dashboard.

Click on create new google font control write the name site title and click create font control once you created it you have the option to add a CSS selective class. Remember you just copied the class from the inspector element.

Remember you just copied the class title (  .site-title)  from the inspector element. ( picture Nr.2)
So it is dot site – title we copied that down, and we are going to paste it into the CSS selective class press the tab key, and you click force style override ( picture nr.3) then click save font controls. ( picture nr. 4)

The new Option under your Dashboard.

Now you have a new option when you go back to your dashboard under appearance and click customise.
Look at typography now we have two options.
Option 1: is the default option what is the paragraphs, and the headings.
Option 2: is now Theme Typography.
If you look, you can see that it is the site title class we just created.
Now we can use the same option as we used for the default option and change font style, and we can change the font colour and so on. We can do the same as we did before.

Isn’t that incredible it gives you so much flexibility for any theme you customise or you develop. You can put custom fonts wherever you like in whatever context is required.

If we choose now the font family for that and let’s give that term the classic Oswald, it is done. Isn’t that amazing?

I love it. We can now control almost every aspect of our typography on our pages. Make the font a bit bigger when it looks too small. Move the Line height a bit up and get the weight up a bit, and make it a bit fatter some letter spacing or slightly wider. All done.

Save and refresh and the same you can do now for any other text on your site. For example your text tag line.
Just repeat the steps.

We are 8 friends. Some of them are bloggers for a magazine, and some of them work for a news and advertising agency.

Today was a bit different because one of my friends has a private Affiliate Blog as a second business and she complained that since 3 months her ranking dropped and she has lost a 1/3 of her visitors to her website. ( there was a simple solution to that read to the end)

I ask her if she changed her keyword tool or did she change keywords and she looked at me as I am coming from the moon. She really asks me if I am serious?
Of course, I am serious as Keywords are essential for SEO.

To my surprise 4 of the other Friends agreed with my friend. I looked a bit puzzled and surprised as I believe that all Websites should have Basic Search Engine Optimization done. It starts already when you set up your site. Am I wrong all these years?

Search Engines become much smarter and recognise if you do Keyword stuffing.

Yes, it is true that the search engine and the digital world has come a long way. It has been more than 15 years in simply using keywords on a website or article.
That was at these times the only way for Search engines to understand what your site or article is about.

I agree with my friend that Search Engines have become much smarter, but never less Google and Bing use hundreds of signals to decipher and rank your site.

Yes, they factor in your comments and what people say about your site. As I see it, the content will be put in a graph like the method of topics and Google and Bing perform all kinds of semantic analysis.

Keywords are still a part of the foundation of the Search engines? As this is a basic how the search engine understands your website.

Why are Keywords important to SEO and to any Website?

When setting up a blog and creating lots of content for an Affiliate Blog, you should follow a few basic rules use the basic settings for your Website.

Some Affiliates just set up a Site without the basic knowledge of SEO. Then they are wondering why no one is visiting their site, or fail in business.

A proper set up for a website is the same important as you would set up a physical business. When you start a physical Business you have to have a few basic steps in place to be able to operate efficiently.

SEO is still an essential task for Website Owners. It starts with your Website or Blog.

  • Indexed by search engine: Make sure your settings allow the search engines like google, bing, yahoo, ask.com, etc. index you. Inside of your dashboard you have the option to set it to Privacy and no index for your blog.
  • Please note non-index are only pages you do not want to indexed like privacy policy, Terms and condition, affiliate disclaimer etc… Please check that you have not ticked the privacy box and you set it up correctly.
  • Title and Tagline: Give your site a title and a tagline. Best with a Keyword from your niche. You can use a random keyword or use a keyword tool to check what people searching for in your niche. Filling this spot with relevant keywords that tell people what your site is all about. Under the Settings tab again, you want to go into the General section.   • Ping your content: You want to let search engines know that there is new content. Go to writing category under settings scroll down to update service. Find good ping services and enter there URL in there. It helps other sites to know that you have new content. ( this is optional and up to you) I use the free version of pingler.com
  • Categorise your blog: Important for any website is categorise your blogs and deliver a good navigation system. When a visitor lands on your site, you want it to be sticky. Sticky means they stay around for a while, not clicking out after they read one blog post. ( Bounce rate)
  • Good Navigation: A good navigation is essential and a list of categories and recent or popular post in your sidebar (easily done with widgets), let your visitors know there is more good content on your side.are keywords important for blogs
  • Permalinks: Again go to the settings section in your dashboard. Click on Permalinks. This option should be posted name. What this means is that after your domain and the word blog with URL will have the name of the post. Like this https:// your domain.com/blog/keyword-relevant-blog –title.
  • Keywords: Use both broad and long tail keywords in your post and pages. There are always affiliates who do not understand the meaning of broad and long tail keywords, and they try to rank for the most general keyword in their niche. Like “health or diet” Yes, it is easier to rank in search engines when you use a long tail keyword, but you should check the competition of that long tail keyword with a proper keyword tool. Like Jaaxy the free keyword tool.
  • Long Tail Keyword Phrase: that would be something like “ the best diet after pregnancy” It happens all the time that over time when your Authority is rising you will also rank for the broad keyword like diet.
  • Sitemap: This is important. Submit your sitemap to google. You can do with the google sitemap plugin or through an SEO Optimizing software on your sites like All in one SEO or Yoast. Otherwise, you have to do it manually create the site map that helps to guide the robots and spiders around your domain.

  • SEO Optimizer plugins: will give your blog a boost. There are different plugins available, and the most common are All in one SEO and Yoast. Those plugins will help you to maximise your blog post on autopilot. Do some research I use All in one SEO and on another site I use Squirrly. Both work well. Consider your needs and choose one.

For the free keyword tool, I use Jaaxy Pro now. Before when I started, I used Jaaxy the free version as it is an excellent Keyword research tool with detail for the keywords and long tail keywords also called the low hanging fruits.

My other 3 friends did not agree with me, and in the end, my oldest friend agreed with me. So we have been 2 against 6. What is ok and I agree with their reasoning.
Two of my friends do both paying for advertisement and using social media. They use Keywords for advertising. 

My other four friends using social media with their networking and social groups. It seems that all is working for one or the other.
I was allowed to look at the website of my friend (where the stats went down,) and I figured out that somehow she made in every post she ticked the no index box and the no follow box. No index tick box on a blog page

I ask her for a reason, and she was not aware of it. But she also said that she fired one of her VA because she was getting too lazy and was writing blogs below average.
So we both guess the VA thought she get back at her in putting the no-index on.

For me, this is low as you can hurt a business with that. 
All is fine now, and my friend is still not convinced that keywords are essential to any website and blog.

Page Views play a vital role in affiliate marketing. If you have an affiliate website then your website will be mostly monetised with banner ads, and that means the page view plays a more significant roll in getting paid by the company who places the ads.

The Bounce rate and display ads or banner ads play an important part when you use google adsense or any other display ad provider.

If you trying to build a loyal audience the bounce rate is a vital insight for you to understand what your visitors looking for.

The higher the bounce rate, the more money you lose.

I will show you some ideas and tricks on how to improve your bounce rate and page view. I will share a few methods for that.

1. How to decrease your website bounce rate and increase your page views through #internal links.

Interlinking from your pages to each other on posts or pages within the content will bring you more page views. It is a proven fact.
How to do Interlinking? It is so easy, search for the post you want to link and add the link to your post or page.

Always make sure that internal linking and external linking open in a new tab. Otherwise, you might lose the visitor as the visitor might not find his way back to your site.

If you interlink keep in consideration that they should be relevant to each other. That is a pleasant experience for the reader or visitor, and your visitor might come back to search for more on your site.

To do that you need to have a few blogs on your website and if you have lots of content on your site than this method is excellent, as it will open the floodgates when it gets started.

Linking your Content

When you are planning to interlink old content with new content, there are two ways on how you can do it.
1. Do it manually. This means you spent time going back and forward from new to old blogs.
2. Do it the easy way with a plugin.

2. Showing related posts on your Website below your Post or Page.

It is like you look into the TV after one show or series is finish it says

“ next comes XYZ “

Visitors will leave your page if you do not show them to a post that is related or just a post with similar interests. Just call it favourite post, or latest post…

There are many ways how you can add a post or page related to the page or post you are showing.
You can, of course, do it manually, and some themes have that coded into the theme.

If it is not in your theme, you can always use a plugin and automate it.

3. Show excerpts on front and archived pages to reduce bounce rate and increase your page views. 

When you show excerpts on front and archived pages, it will reduce the loading time for your site.

What is an important point as you will know from yourself it the site is loading to slow you will leave the site?

When you show excerpts posts on your site, it also increases the page views.
You should almost never show the whole post on the archived pages and or front page.

If your bounce rate is high then this is an excellent way to reduce the bounce rate and increase the page view.

Just imagine in your mind this scenario, you go to a website and find a dozen images in one post and then the site shows ten of the fully-loaded picture posts on one page.

Isn’t that a waste of your time? Scrolling through to get to the Post you wanted to read?

I believe most of the visitors will leave as the experience is not pleasant. The next obstacle is the website, will load so slowly. Can you imagine that?

What would you do…? I think like everyone would do, leave the site.
Most of the good themes have that feature of showing excerpts on front and archived pages already built-in.

4. Increase your page views and reduce bounce rate using an interactive sidebar.

Any sidebar in a website is playing a crucial role in increasing page views and reducing bounce rates.
Unfortunately, it is so many times overlooked by Website owners.
A great way is to show your favourite posts
• Day by day
• Week by Week
• Month by Month
• Alternatively, the recent posts on a single post page.

In short show your favourite posts in the sidebar. You can customise them with stunning images to catch the interest of the visitors and redirect them to other posts on your side.
You can put a small video into the sidebar from your favourite post …. Be creative the possibilities are there.

Remember each extra or additional interactive sidebar content feature is a potential avenue to keep the visitor’s attention on your site. You can check your website speed with some free tools.

 5. Pop-ups, ads and distracting advertising

When you have pop-ups on your side, let them slide in at the corner as if people are reading your content and the pop up is coming up they get annoyed and might leave your site.

Be friendly with your pop up and don’t make it annoying. Pop-ups are distractive, and lots of people hate them.

There are different ways how to place pop-ups find a good and friendly way.

keep your pop up at the corner, and show them at the exit.
Be aware and cut down on distractions like auto-play audio, autoplay video and banner ads on your site.

 6. Splitting up your long posts

If you are a person who loves to write super long posts, then I suggest splitting them up.

Lots of people do not favour a long post, and they will click away if the post seems to be too long.

Google loves long content, we all know, but a long article with 10K will be a bit overwhelming for a visitor. Create an ebook out of your blog and offer them to download it. Of course with an opt-in form. In this way, you can capture their email. 

A long article will also have a slower loading time, so break them up with the WordPress #tag in your post.

How to split the post

Simple go to post editor in your post, and switch to text mode and add the
WordPress <!–next page–> tag in your post. anywhere you want to break the post into the next page. Your post will have multiple pages.

Take caution that you do not trigger an adverse effect, if you do not have a sufficient amount of content on each page, then your visitor gets upset.
Splitting pages up should go from 5K below that do not split.

7. Encourage your visitor for random browsing a great way to decrease your bounce rate. 

Random browsing is so easy and so incredibly useful.

What you have to do?
Place a “Random Post” or “Explore button” in the above fold area of your page or post.
It is a simple button that redirects visitors to random posts on your website.
You can again use a plugin

Try it out, and you can see if it suits you. But remember not every plugin is compatible with your site. Test it out first.

A word of caution in reducing your bounce rate. 

Before you use a plugin make sure it is compatible with your website. As it it is not compatible it can break your Website.
Not every plugin is compatible with your theme. Please also remember that many plugins will slow down your website.

Site speed is a vital component in reducing your bounce rate. 

So choose wisely what you want to implement and what suits you for your site. Test your site speed before and after installing a plugin.

Conclusion:

For every problem, there is a solution. For decreasing the bounce rate and increasing page views, there are many options available. What is best for you it is up to you, and you have to decide.

It does not matter what you do, one thing is for sure whenever you create content, keep in mind that it is important that it is quality content and not just written so you have content on your website.
Some of the tips will only work if you have enough content. Every Tip works in its own way. Just try them out and see what suits you best.

When I started first with Pinterest, I had no idea what I should do and how to create a Pin or a board. It wasn’t easy for me in the beginning, but I decide not to give up. There was not much training around, so I bought myself a course on Udemy, and it gave me the basics.

Now you can find a lot of information on youtube and on different channels for Pinterest training. Most of the Pinterest Training is free.
The regular boards are ok, and you can change them into a group board. But before you do that you should have around 500 followers and 10 boards on Pinterest.

This is my advice, as people will not follow group boards if the followers are low. Creating a group board is a great incentive to increase your traffic to your Website and your followers, but it also comes with a few headaches and, you need to follow and set a few rules to manage a group board.

The five areas where you can incorporate a Pinterest Group board are

Collaboration

Networking

Authority ( Brand establishment)

If you work with a team on a specific project, then you can use group boards to share tips, training, materials and resources. If you do not want to share the board than make it secret and no one will see except the people you specify.

Make People aware of your Brand.

A great way to share your Product or make people aware of your Brand. You can interact and establish your Credibility with your Brand.
The best way is to start with a Pinterest Group Board and contribute frequently to build your brand.

You can also run a contest or support a charity.

How do you get started

When you want to create a Contributor Board, you need to go to your Pinterest account login and click on the add +tab ( boards)
Select the option to create a Board.
The first step is the same as you create a standard Pinterest Board.

Step 4. Select a category where the board fits in
Step 5. Decide on you want to make it public or secret.
Step 6. Write your Description what your board is about.
Step 7. Save the board and add some pins.
When you have done that start adding some of your pins and re-pin some of your follower’s pins. Step 8. Click on edit your board ( the little pencil sign) and make your board a collaborator board.


The final step you  need to decide is who you want to add as a contributor.

There are two ways how to invite people to join your Pinterest group board.
If you invite people to join your group board, please keep in mind that you must follow at least one of their boards and they should be following at least one of your boards. Be selective and just don’t invite anyone. Invite People who are passionate and fit the topic.

When you enter the email address into the field “Who can pin”than Pinterest will email them an invitation and prompt them to join Pinterest.
The second choice is, and this is more natural and I prefer it that way that you can add the username of a pinner you would like to invite.

Any of your current boards can be made into a group board. Choose a board that has already a lot of pins and do the same as above.

PinGroupie is a tool that lets you participate in group boards, your board gets exposed to potential followers who want to join your board. Joining different boards gives you the chance to drive traffic to your site. You can also see there the most popular boards. Choose your niche and search the boards. Thousands of users that are on favourite boards engage actively in the group boards. If you want to get more exposure for your board, you can list it at PinGroupie, but the rule for Pingroupie is that you need at least 5 collaborators, 250 followers and 50 pins.

My advice for you and a word of caution ( here comes a headache)

Every time a contributor pins to a group board you will get a notification from Pinterest. My recommendation is that you turn off these notifications otherwise your inbox is bombarded with notifications and unnecessary emails.
How to turn off the notifications?
It is simple, select the group board in question, and click the edit board button, then click the turn off notification tab.
Do regular checks on your Contributors and Group Boards.
In your group board, you can decide who do you accept to join, and it is your choice of accepting someone into your group board. Keep it Spam free.
Remove the spammers and block them.

Housekeeping for your Pinterest Group Board

#Make sure and regularly check your board that it is a benefit for your business. Choose your audience carefully, so they are matched for your group board. (For example, someone who sells ladies fashion does not fit into a group board for electronic gadgets. )
#Grow your followers, the more followers a group board has, the higher the exposure you can expect for your business.

You will be able to see all the content that is currently on that board. New pins that get added to the group board will also appear on your Pinterest feed, regardless of the person who is pinning the pins. Unfortunately, Pinterest has no way to filter the pins what you can see.

Because of that, you might see pins from people you are not following, and there might be some spam and inappropriate content.
I make it a point of regular checking and monitoring your feeds, to ensure that you can quickly remove and spot something that is not desired from your part.

Take action immedateloy when inappropriate content and pins are pinned.

How to remove someone from your group board?
If you added someone to a particular group board and the person is not following your rules, spams or post inappropriate content remove them.
Click the selected board, and click on the remove tab next to their name.

Delete a board entirely

Choose the selected board click edit and hit the delete button on the bottom left.

Leave a Group Board anytime.

If someone adds you to a group board than you can leave anytime, you want.
Choose the board and click leave the board again.
You will be asked by Pinterest if you are sure you want to leave. Click yes and go. You are now permanently removed from that group board.

Conclusion

Take caution and do not go overboard in sending too many invitations to people to join your group board. Pinterest can also ban you for a couple of days when they feel you are spamming.
Another part I learned is that not everyone wants to join a group board. Be careful and respectful not to annoy people.
Avoid sending repeated requests. A good strategy is sent invitations to people who show an interest in your pins and can contribute to your business and brand.

Encourage people to join your group boards with your group board descriptions. Use some keywords and #hashtags to be found. State that you welcome contributors and anyone wants to join your group board should follow your board and comment on at least one pin of yours.

Make it easy for people to contact you add your email in the board description and ask people to send you an email to join.
Least not last create rules for your board. Note one of my rules is that I only want vertical pins like Pinterest that gives your group board an excellent overall and clean look.

If you create a free Mini Website-there are different uses for it. In the Internet world, the word “minisite” can refer to any number of different things. Some people call small niche article sites minisites, but that isn’t the general use of the word.

We continue …. you are now on your Dashboard page where you can see the “Welcome to WordPress “and the blue bar that says customize your site. Please click on customize your site.

You will come to the customize page that looks like this for me. Don’t panic your page will look a bit different because you have chosen a different design. When you click on change ( No 2)  you will be able to change your theme if you are not happy with it. That is up to you. Just don’t change too often it is not good for your site.

Site Identity in SiteRubix. It is the same as a Word Press dashboard. 

When you click on Site Identity you will be able to insert a logo if you have one. If not and this is a family site with photos use one of your family.

  • Select a logo when you have one. If not skip that step you can always come back later.
  • If you want to change your Site Title now is the time.
  • If you want to change your Tagline you can do it here.
  • What you always have to remember is that you need to click on the published button after you are finished otherwise your changes will not be saved.

How to change the colour scheme on your Siterubix Site

Here you can change the colours scheme of your site. Just be aware a white background is less distractive.

Header text colour: this depends on your picture you need to change the colour that you can read your Site Title and Tagline.

Background colour: I normally choose white due it is less distractive. But of course, you can choose whatever you want, and suits your site best.

Colour Scheme: That comes with the Theme but you are able to change it, just make sure it is matching with the overall look of your site.

Remember whenever you make changes, please click on the published button before you continue.

Header Image in your Siterubix Site

You can upload your own header image. Please click on upload image then go to upload from your computer. I guess your media library is still empty as your site is new. The Media Library will store all the pictures you upload on your site. When you come back later on it is easy to use the images again.

Please make sure that your image is according to the header size. Mine, for example, is 1600×400 pixels. You will be able to crop your image once you upload it for a perfect fit. You can also skip cropping. Some Headers have a slider, and you can upload up to three or four images, they rotate in your header. If you have 3 images, you can upload 3 images.
Again when finish uploading your image please click publish.

Background Image in your Siterubix Website

If you like to have a Background image in your Siterubix Site than you can upload one. Sometimes it looks not so good and the whole background looks then very busy.

If you have a family website a background image might be an excellent idea. You can see in the picture I used a background picture you can immediately see.

If the header image and the background image actually blend in it might not look too bad. When you change the background image you need to again upload it from your computer, phone or tablet. You will need to decide on the image position and on the image size. You can play around with it and check how it looks. There are quite a few possibilities. Be as creative as you want.

What is a Navigation Menu in a Website ( you are right it is nothing to eat)

A Menu in a Website, and how they are used at a most basic level of explanation is a collection of a list with links. Most of the Menus are on the site navigation area or on the header navigation bar.

It is usually called a Navigation Menu. Every Link in a Navigation Menu is called a menu item. I will not discuss this here further as in the Training you will be walked through by Kyle and you will know in detail how to create it.

The basic term is that you create a top menu and a bottom or side menu. It is done and when you customize your site for the first time you can skip it. When you build your Website you will need to build and create the Menus.

Post or Homepage Settings in your SiteRubix Website

  • You have the choice between homepage setting or post setting.
  • What it means is that what is displayed on the homepage of your Website.
  • If you choose post than the post will be in chronological order ( classic blog) or as a fixed/static page displayed.
  • If you set it to a static homepage, you need to create the first two pages.
  • Why two? Because one will become the homepage, and the other will be where your posts are displayed.

Slider setting in a free Website 

Some Websites have Slider settings and some don’t have it always depends on your Theme. Some themes come with and some come without it.

Most of the slider settings require a special pixel size and will only work when you select the static front page. Your header picture will change in an interval of the pictures you chose.

Contact Details for a Website

In some themes, we have them on the header, on the side or sometimes on the footer. You can insert your contact details if you want to, and I would recommend a separate email address.

If you are using it as a family page than I would not fill out my contact page you want to avoid that spammers get hold of it and sending you Spam information or clogging up your inbox.

On the other hand, if you have a company website or a business website for your products you might want to let your customers know who you are and where are you located. Be reminded that whenever you insert some changes into your site use the publish button to save it.

Additional CSS on a Website

If you are wondering what is CSS here is an explanation of it. Every Cascading Style Sheet (whether it is contained in a .css file, or embedded in the head element of an HTML document) is a series of instructions called statements. A statement does two things.

a: it identifies the elements in an HTML document that it affects

b: it tells the browser how to draw those elements.

If you are new and not familiar with CSS, then I would recommend to wait and get all the other things set up. Your website is functioning OK even without the CSS. In the customize section you can learn how to do the CSS if you need to. But for a beginner start slowly and go step by step don’t overwhelm yourself.
