Micro habits are so small that they feel like they should sort of succeed automatically. That’s what makes them so frustrating when, for whatever reason, they don’t. Did you ask yourself sometimes how to micro-step your daily habits to success? Moreover did you worry each day that task you supposed to do are not getting done and you move them to the next day than the next day than another week or another month?
The good news is, you can set up any micro habit for success with just three simple steps. Sound easy, but there are a few rules you have to follow.
1.Why should you focus on one micro habit at a time?
Focus, Focus, Focus
Moreover, micro-habits are small, it’s easy to think you can create a whole slew of them to fix your life all at once. After all, they’re just small changes.
With that the problem is that even small changes can add up, especially when you have a whole extensive long list of them. Don’t get frustrated when you go slow and use baby steps to achieve them; you will bring your daily habits to success.
You have to remember that do not get caught up in trying to achieve everything in one day or remake yourself entirely. Choose your daily habits to success wisely.
The world was not created in one day. It took days to create the world.
Be passioned and don’t let your ego take the lead.
Pick up one micro habit and then allow yourself to pick another one until the first one is already well established.
The feeling you will experience when you tick off that micro habit from your list is a feeling of success.
Look at what you are trying to establish.
Link the new micro-habit to one that’s already in place.
See if there is another habit you already have in place to link this new micro habit, which will bring your 2nd daily habit to success.
For example, suppose you want to start jogging in the morning. You could connect it to the already established routine in place for stretching exercises each morning. The act of doing the stretching exercises before becomes a trigger for the new micro habit, and so it becomes easy to remember to do it.
Sometimes the brain gets in the way and tries to tell you what to do.
That means that you need to get a bit creative with this. ….
If you have doubts or don’t know where to start, try these…
a. If you’re not sure what to connect it with, ask yourself questions such as:
b. What time of day do you want to perform this micro habit?
c. Is there something else I do at that time every day?
d. Is this micro habit somehow related to something I’m already doing regularly?
e. Can I somehow link it to something else entirely but still see some alignment in my mind?
f. Does it fit into my routine?
Set it in stone. Make it fun . Daily Habits to success.
Or at least place the micro habit on your schedule.
Even a tiny habit such as drinking more water is established by simply setting a timer on your phone to remind you to drink every hour.
Or to place a bottle of water and a glass on your desk and fill it up regularly.
You can use anything to remind you to execute the micro habit.
For example:
You can use your calendar on your mobile phone or on your computer, or write it down by hand on a piece of paper or on a post-it note. Place the post-it note on a physical calendar hanging on your wall to remind yourself that you have set aside time just for this micro habit.
Do not list too many micro habits on your daily /weekly list.
Choose 3 of them and let them become first a routine for a week or so . That helps you not be overwhelmed by too many tasks you have to achieve.
We want to achieve them and integrate them into our daily life. To do that, we need the small baby steps to reach these goals.
Reward yourself with some treats.
With treats, I mean anything that lifts your mood. You will understand that just ticking off that one habit of the list and making it a routine is a great habit that feeling alone is a great reward.
We are talking about rewards. Treat yourself to a spa, football game tickets, concert tickets or some shopping spree.
These steps bring your daily habits to success. Encourage yourself to perform your micro habits daily. After a while, they become a routine, and you will miss them if you do not do them. Sometimes, every little bit helps.
